Club Day—September 19

Club Day is a chance for all the students at MAC to become more involved in their school community. Clubs are a great way for students to meet new people and discover new talents. At MAC, clubs include:

  • Amistad – In the past, Amistad has raised money for specific needs in the community such as youth suicide and mental health
  • Anime Club
  • Cappies Citics – For youth interested in drama and writing, this club gives you the chance to write reviews of high school plays around Edmonton
  • Celebrations – Celebrations club organizes the Celebrations we have at school such as the Remembrance Day Memorial on November 11 every year
  • Chess Club
  • Dance Club – Often times Dance Club organizes a presentation for the school at events
  • Dramafest – A student run drama club that creates short skits and presents them during the year
  • EuroMAC Travel Club
  • Fitness Club
  • FAB (Fine Arts Bureau)
  • FNMI (First Nations Métis Inuit)
  • Grad Council – Organizes the grade 12 graduation
  • Intramurals
  • MAC News – This is different from Newspaper Club. MAC News presents the video announcements on Friday mornings.
  • MAC Talk – MAC Talk offers students a chance to socialize with their friends, discuss about serious issues, and eat some delicious and free lunch
  • Math Competitions
  • Model UN
  • Newspaper – A student run school newspaper which reports on the events of our school
  • Open House – Volunteers organize and help out during the open house for Archbishop Macdonald
  • Peer Support
  • Peer Tutoring
  • Photography Club
  • School Choir
  • Social Justice Club
  • Student Union Club
  • Speech and Debate
  • Ski Trip – Twice a year, some of the MAC students go on a ski trip in the mountains during a weekend
  • Tech Team
  • Year Play
  • Yearbook

School sports teams include:

  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Cross Country
  • Curling
  • Golf
  • Soccer
  • Swimming
  • Track and Field
  • Volleyball

Some other session that may be necessary for some students are the U of A early admissions information in room P2, Scholarships in room 109, IB-DP Requirements in room 205, and Volunteer Information and Opportunities in the Atrium.
