Julia Stanski, Editor
As the copy editor of Macsource this year, I wanted to write one last article to say thank you and goodbye to you all. Thank you to all our readers, who care enough to connect to your school community and support student writers. I hope you’ll stick with Macsource next year and throughout all your time at Mac.
Thank you to Mrs. Petrovic, our lovely teacher supervisor, for lending us her classrooms for meetings all year and looking out for us.
Thank you to Deborah and Victoria, last year’s editors, for entrusting me with this position and giving me the chance to grow as an editor. I hope we’ve run Macsource the way you intended and cared for your baby to your satisfaction.
Thank you to all of our writers, for sharing your time and gifts with us. Thanks for letting me edit your articles, adjust your font and email you with constant questions. Thank you for sharing your unique creative voices. I have great respect for each one of you. I hope that all of you will keep writing, on any platform you can, and keep making our newspaper the awesome thing that it is.
But most of all, thank you to the incredible Haley Dang, my miraculous co-editor. All year, Haley has managed our social media, posted articles, organized meetings and done every part of running the paper that I didn’t want to do. She has put so much of her time and creativity into this endeavour and doesn’t get half the recognition that she deserves. Haley, collaborating with you was an absolute joy. I’m so proud of what we were able to create together. Your abilities and optimism and kindness are truly limitless, as is your potential. I’ll miss you terribly, but I know I’m leaving Macsource in the best possible hands.
I wish the best of luck to Kasey Enokson, who will be taking over for me as copy editor next year. I know she’ll do a great job of maintaining grammatical standards here and make me proud.
Thank you to all of you, for letting me be your editor this year. I’ve learned a lot and gained a ton of valuable experience, and had the time of my life. I know Macsource will continue to grow and improve, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
Goodbye, everyone. Happy summer and God bless.
